Remembering Mumbai

The Mumbai Skyline When I think of cosmopolitan Mumbai this is the picture that comes to my mind. The gorgeous retro architecture, the streets that never sleep and star-spotting at night-clubs ;)

Picture taken by moi this April.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here !

Aamir Khan's blog

Few months back i was surprised to stumble upon Aamir Khan's Blog for his film 'Mangal Pandey' and he even answered some comments personally. Now the smart Khan has come up with blogs for his new film Rang De Basanti's publicity. This time it doesn't have the personal touch but i was having hysterical fits of laughter after reading a few comments that his fans left him:Hey Aamir, finally I think I can get in touch with you through this space.I am a medico & giving my PG exams next month. My father was the former HOD(Dermatology) in the most reputed medical college in the city.I have noticed that you hardly ever wear sunglasses either in public or during your shoots.Being such a fair person,I really hope that you atleast use sunscreen whenever you expose your skin(especially the face)to the harsh sunrays between 9AM-4PM.The sun's rays can really create havoc if you don't protect your skin during this time period. The risk of wrinkling of the skin(especially when you are fair skinned)is double. The best way to combat this would be to apply a SPF(Sun Protection Factor)18 along with the use of sunglasses whenever you are out in the sun. This will ward off the harmful UV-A & UV-B rays. You have one of the most good looking faces we have ever seen right up there with the likes of Tom Cruise & Richard Gere.We don't want that gorgeous face to be ruined.I just want you to know that all of us really care about you & love you so much.I really hope you read this message.Even though I have my exams next month,I am waiting with bated breath for RDB.Your movies are like the Olympics. It comes once in four years or once a year & all of us just abandon everything that we are doing to go watch it the first weekend. To make up for this,we keep watching your old movies or your ads over & over again.I hope that you are getting my msg that we are dying to see you more often.By the way,got to know that you were a good tennis player. You may find it interesting that I was ranked No.4 in the country in the Under-16 age group.I'm waiting for the day I get to meet you in person.Would be a dream come true.Lotsa love from all your die-hard well wishers.Dr.Suhas.Published By Dr.Suhas - January 18 4:43 PMI should be studying but i can't stop laughing!

Couldn't resist this hillarious meme!

An unconditional gift

I'm the happy recipient of Tsunamika, the doll with a powerful message of hope, generosity and unconditional giving.A year after the Tsunami, the project which is funded by Concern Worldwide is concieved and executed in Auroville in Southern India and employs fisherwomen from Tsunami-ravaged villages to create tiny little dolls, aptly named Tsunamika. The team who trained the women, supplies them with raw materials and they are bought in bulk and distributed unconditionally all over the world. The most beautiful aspect of the whole project is not the income generation for the fisherwomen but the fact that so many people have come together for a common cause and working for it without expecting anything in return.Tsunamika comes in many forms-as hairclips,a book mark or even a paper-clip(like the one i got!)and is seen as a symbol of rebuilding and growth, not just for the fisherwomen from the tsunami-ravaged villages, but for the whole world.Kudos to the resilient human spirit and the power of moving forward in all of us! :)This made my day! :)Where to get Tsunamikas in US

Your Birthdate: June 17

Your birth on the 17th day of the month suggests that you are very lucky financially, because this date indicates a solid business sense. Although you are probably very honest and ethical, this birthday enables you to be shrewd and successful in the world of business and commercial enterprise. You have excellent organizational, managerial, and administrative capabilities enabling you to handle large projects and significant amounts of money with relative ease. You are ambitious and highly goal-oriented, although you may be better at starting projects than you are at finishing them. A sensitivity in your nature, often repressed below the surface of awareness, makes it hard to give or receive affection.
